E. Salima who became the sixth child of 12 when her mother married the father of her heart, and blended their families. Candace’s father survived Hitler’s invasion of his Netherlands homeland and after emigrating to America, instilled in Candace a burning love for the principles of freedom. Struggling for several years as a single parent, Candace’s mother made God, education, and family the focus of her children’s upbringing. Her mother’s strong spirit and independence only added to Candace’s resolve to preserve the American dream. Today, Candace is a respected voice for the American spirit and is followed by a nationwide audience on Turning the Tide with Candace Salima. Candace interviews politicians, authors, actors, actresses, musicians, businessmen ... anything that turns the tide toward morning in America again.

• As former co-host of Buy Back America on Utah's KTALK AM 630, Candace was privileged to interview some of her favorites, such as: James Rollins, Steve Berry, Ann Coulter, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Sheriff Paul Babeu, Senator Mike Lee and so many more.
• When Candace was 18-years old, she underwent open heart surgery under the knife of Russell M. Nelson.
• When Candace was 28-years old she was on The Phil Donahue Show defending The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
• It took Candace and her husband, Alvin, ten years to date, get engaged, break up, get engaged again, and finally marry.
